WIP(s) Wednesday!

Good Morning Everyone!

I LOVE to knit and read. Unfortunately I find myself incapable of holding a book with two hands while knitting so I listen to audiobooks...

The last few days I've paired my knitting projects with separate books. In the evenings, my wife R and I listen to the A Song of Ice and Fire series and right now we're in book 3, A Storm of Swords. I've paired this bleak and dramatic book with the scarf I'm currently knitting:

This is the first scarf I've ever made with a built in I-Cord edging and I'm really enjoying the result!  Unfortunately this gray does not photograph well...

When I work alone, I've been listening to the Beatrix Potter series by Susan Wittig Albert. Currently I'm listening to the first book, The Tale of Hilltop Farm. I've paired this lively tale with a more lively (even if it's a more mindless work) project in a beautiful spring color. Last fall, I shelved this project to begin some commissioned works, but I'm down to the last ball on the center of this baby blanket. :) YAY!!!

I must admit though that it looks like I've got longer to go than I can expect yarn to last... Am anxious to get through this last ball and see if it'll stretch!

Please feel free to leave a comment and let me know what you're reading and working on!

As always, Knit Happy!

  1. Your scarf looks like it's going to be very warm and soft and squishy!

  2. I love grey and it is looking wonderful in your scarf. And the baby blanket looks so cheerful, hope you have enough yarn to complete it. Currently, I'm reading A Game of Thrones. My reading of it has slowed a bit, since reading the death of a character. I'm taking a moment to let that settle before moving on.

    1. Thank you! It is a beautiful grey and it pairs very nicely with the pattern, but I have enjoyed working with something a bit more vibrant...

I have found that you need quite a few moments in this series, although they are very good... I'm in the same boat as you at the moment -- needing a bit of time to live with a plot twist before moving much further.

Makes me glad I live an easier life than these folks that's for sure...
